The so-called air filter short circuit means that because of improper installation, the air filter is not well sealed. The air containing a lot of impurities is not directly filtered into the cylinder from the bypass through the filter surface of the filter element. In this case, the air filter does not play a role in purifying the intake of the engine.
The way to judge whether the air filter is short is to observe the filter core once in a while. If the surface of the paper filter core is clean, it shows that the air filter is not functioning and there is a short circuit.
The key to preventing the air filter short circuit is to ensure the seal is installed when the air is installed, that is, the unfiltered air is not allowed to enter the cylinder from the bypass. The following points should be paid attention to when installing the air filter:
1) the 2 end faces of the paper filter core must be covered with 1 complete glial seal gaskets, respectively.
2) if the paper filter core is degumming with the iron skin at both ends, it should be replaced.
3) the airfoil nut of the fixed air filter cover should not be screwed too tightly to prevent the shell from deforming. Because the shell by thin metal stamping, casing deformation once, will crush the paper filter;
4) the connection between the air filter assembly and the intake pipe of the engine must be firmly and closely to prevent air leakage.
